How much would a party for 50 people cost?

10

I’m turning sixteen at the end of this month and want to have a party. I don’t need to rent a space or anything like that I just want to know about how much food/drinks would cost for a party of 50.
I’m not planning on going gourmet or anything. It will probably be things like chips, pretzels, fruit, and such. And soda.

A LOT UNLESS YOU GO TO THE DOLLAR STORE

a lot. well, you could go to the dollar store or CVS or something to find cheap stuff for your party.

That would all depend on what you serve.
If you do pizza and soda, I would estimate that you would need 15 pizzas and 25 2-liter bottles of soda.

Do that many people care you are turning 16?

Then again free drinks are free drinks…

It really depends on what you want to buy for the party.

Say you do pizza and soda pop. You have to figure 2 pieces of pizza at the very least, and some people will eat 3-4 pieces. Figure 16-18 large pizzas at $12 each (it may be more, but hey, if you order that many, they should give you a discount. That’s about $200 right there. The pizza place might throw in the sodapop for free. Then you’d want a sheet cake or two… what are they, $25 – $40 each? Ice cream for 50? Maybe 8 half-gallons at $4 each. Okay, figure $300 for a low-cost party for 50.

Now, if you want better food, like a fancy meal, it’s upwards from there. You could call a few caterers for estimates. Estimates are free.

Well, if you have people who can cook for a crowd, you might get away spending much less. If they can do chili or burgers and homemade potato and other salads, you’d save by buying groceries in bulk.

well if you allow yourself 100.00 you could have a nice party. depending on what you want served, whether finger sandwiches, little Caesar pizza is pretty cheap, you can manage well. i don’t know how much your spending budget is, but you could manage to do ok. i would serve mixed drinks (koolaid and unset or sweet tea). you could find out what restaurants offer good deals. chicken wings, Sonny’s, boston market etc…..depending on what you want. but, if you wanta have fun how about some ol hot dogs on the grill and chips, that’s pretty cheap, simple, and every ones favorite. have a bonfire with all your friends, and there you go!! And that could be all under 50.00 if you wanta do it that way. Remember, your a teenager and make it simple, and some kids don’t eat much, they would rather hangout with friends and chat, rather than eat. So, if you leave some chips out that would be the first to go. have fun with your sweet 16….and happy birthday!!

Congratulations first off bcuz i know you must be so excited.
Ok so I’m not sure in what state you live in but in California (I’m in LA) you can expect to waste about 100 dollars maybe less. Don’t get fooled by the dollar store deals because sometimes it is not as cheap as you think. For example you need 50 plates and 50 cups ,spoons, etc… and per say in the dollar store a pack of 10 is a dollar but in the regular store its 3.99/4.50 for a pack of 50 then you save 50 cents which is not much but at your age I know it matters. Also, even if the 50 cents seems worth it it is @ times better to buy everything in the same store than to run around town and waste gas and time and also pay more in taxes for your separate purchases.

P.S. You should try getting popcorn bags and having your friends help you pop them right before the party. It’s fun and they serve as a good snack (and cheap) another cheap snack is jello and you can get small cups and make jello non-alcohol shoots which is fun if your parents approve if not plain ol’ jello is fun. Another thing KOOL-AID or powdered mixing drinks are cheaper to have. Ugg sorry can’t help it my brain just filled up with all these ideas and more lol like making your own decorations with an old sheet or colored sheet as tablecover…anyhow enjoy you can e-mail me if you need any other ideas :D happy birthday!

Well i know you are giving party and its your birthday, why don’t just ask a few of your closest friends could they bring chips and 2 or 3 litters soda’s . Make a list of things to bring, and see who sign up to bring something, and you provide the pizza, Pizza Hut does the $5 pizza with one topping as long as you buy them in set of 3′s. You are providing the place i’m sure they would not mind, you never know what they might bring if you ask. Happy Birthday Sweet 16
